Historically AHAC received grant funding from the Councils from 1986 to 2012 when we had to tender for Contracts.  We were successfully awarded South Ayrshire Council Contracts to provide Housing Advice and Sustainment Services in 2012, 2017, 2021 and 2026.   

Following a period of consultation, South Ayrshire Council re-commissioned housing support services resulting in a reduced available budget condensing 3 contracts into one, streamlining service delivery, reducing duplication and ensuring a single point of access for households aged 16 and over.  The introduction of a single, more streamlined Housing Support, Advice and Advocacy Service will allow for a more co-ordinated and efficient approach to homelessness prevention and tenancy sustainment. 

AHAC as the successful Contractor carried out TUPE negotiations, TUPE transfer, restructure and redundancy processes.   

From 1.4.26 the SAC 3 separate services below were combined into one: 

• Housing Support for young people aged 16–25 years – Quarriers 
• Housing Support for adults aged 26 and over – SeAscape 
• Housing Advice, Information and Advocacy – Ayr Housing Aid Centre SCIO (AHAC) 

From 1.4.26 Quarriers and SeAscape no longer provide housing support services for South Ayrshire Council and staff attached to these contracts transferred by TUPE legislation to AHAC. 

AHAC’s current Housing Support, Advice and Advocacy Service (including EAC Prison Housing Advice Service) Contract commenced on 1.4.26 for 3 years. 

AHAC’s new Housing Support, Advice and Advocacy service will: 

• Provide statutory housing support duties, housing advice and advocacy for all households aged 16+ including Housing Advice services within HMP Kilmarnock, Barlinnie and Greenock to residents of South and East Ayrshire 
• Deliver flexible, trauma-informed, relationship-based support tailored to individual needs 
• Work collaboratively with partners such as Health & Social Care Partnership, Housing First, Wellbeing Recovery College, the Integrated Neighbourhood Team, and the Third Sector to address wider needs 

In addition to the above services AHAC have secured funding to provide additional service which complement our core work and raise income by providing training courses on housing and homeless law and associated topics to Local Authorities, Third Sector and interested parties.
