The Board of Ayr Housing Aid Centre SCIO have much pleasure in announcing, after an internal
recruitment process, the appointment of Emma Gaughan in her new role as Operations Manager
commencing on 16.11.23.
Chairperson, Margaret Greenan said “The Board are delighted to announce Emma’s appointment as
Operations Manager. This strategic role will benefit from her passion and energy to future proof the
Centre. With Emma’s help the Centre will see continued modernisation as we continue to adapt and
evolve to the changing needs and aspirations of our service users. The Centre has been delivering
high quality, person centred services for over 37 years. We pride ourself in ensuring everyone can
access free, accredited housing information, advice and support. This in turn promotes informed
choices; securing positive long term sustainment. Emma fully supports the ethos and aims of the
Centre and her enthusiasm and commitment will continue to benefit the Centre and those we help
every day.”
Emma joined the Centre around 7 years ago as Prison Housing Adviser. She continued to develop
her career as Senior Prison Housing Adviser and Engagement Team Leader in 2021. She has further
developed her knowledge and skills with her progression within the organisation into the Management
Team. Emma’s commitment to ensuring everyone, no matter their background should be able to
access free, quality, accredited housing advice and regulated support services. She has become an
integral part of the Centre and the Board and staff are excited to work with Emma to embrace what she
will bring to the team.
Emma commented “It is a huge honour to be given the chance to develop my career in Housing further
with the Centre. I would like to thank in particular Suzanne for her continued support, guidance and
mentoring over the years. Since joining the Centre I have received continual support which has given
me the necessary skills to apply for this internal position. The Centre is a great employer who takes
pride in supporting continuous development for all staff including my SVQ level 4 Management
qualifications. This level of learning has allowed me to develop my understanding of Leadership and
Management and facilitated my advancement ensuring I have the key skills required for this role. The
Board and CEO recognise the need to enhance, develop and mentor staff which in turn prepares them
to be able to step up and ensure the Centre has a positive future. I am keen to promote our already
established reputation and take us forward as we strive to enhance services for the community we
serve for the next 37 years.”
