999 Emergency Number

In an emergency you should always dial 999 if:

  • There is a risk of personal injury or loss of life
  • A crime is in progress

Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing or speech-impaired callers using a Textphone (minicom) should dial 18000 in an emergency.

For non-emergencies and general enquiries, 101 is the number you call if you need to contact the police. Using 101 for situations that do not require an immediate police response helps keep 999 available for when there is an emergency.

Veterans First Point Ayrshire

Veterans First Point Ayrshire Telephone: 07527 845122.

South Ayrshire Council has been working with a number of partner agencies to create a new support network for veterans.

Veterans First Point Ayrshire was established to provide an integrated support network for veterans and their families. This support is vital when finding the means to settle into a new home, work and social environment following military service.

The transition from military to civilian life is challenging, regardless of how long someone has spent in service and the reasons for leaving. The aim of the support is to help veterans and their families overcome the various challenges.
